Instructors

John Pyrik has broad range of analytical and investigative experience accumulated from 15 years of government service. He has worked as an intelligence officer for CSIS, a securities investigator for the B.C. Securities Commission, and a money laundering analyst for FINTRAC. He is presently a visiting fellow at the Centre of Intelligence and Security Studies at Carleton University and a consultant to financial institutions and government agencies on the collection and exploitation of open source intelligence (OSINT).
 
Christina Zeller received her B.A. and her M.L.I.S. (Master of Library and Information Studies) from the University of British Columbia. She has worked in the Knowledge Management Services department at the British Columbia Securities Commission since 2001, conducting research, training staff on commercial databases, and managing website content. Her previous positions include reference at Koerner Library, UBC and knowledge management at Blast Radius (web development). She uses major online commercial databases, including Lexis Nexis, Infomart, Quicklaw, Factiva, and AutotrackXP for due diligence and legal research. Christina is president-elect of Special Libraries Association, Western Canada Chapter.
 
R. L. "Doc" Gardner, PhD has been in law enforcement since 1986 and has served as a sworn officer in both federal and local agencies to include serving as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He currently serves in the Investigative Services Division of the Lakeland Police Department, Florida, where he is in command of the Criminal Intelligence Unit.
