Tracing IP addresses
|
An IP address is the unique set of numbers which identifies a computer on the Internet. IP addresses can be static or dynamically assigned, meaning
they stay the same or change. If you have a dial-up connection, for example, your are assigned a new IP
address by your ISP every time you connect. If you have a high-speed connection which is always on, then
your IP address probably doesn't change.
To trace an IP address try a whois lookup at:
Sam Spade also offers a good collection of tools.

Forgot the URL? |
If you only remember part of the URL, go to
Google

allows you to limit your search just to the URL (see example).
What about variants on the name?

you to find every registered domain name in the dot.com, dot.net, dot.org, and .edu zones, that
contains all of the search terms you enter, anywhere within the domain name itself. They say

Alternatively, try
